Workshop: Drawing with the Gelatin Plate Cape Cod Museum of Art

Drawing with the Gelatin Plate was a related workshop kicking off Celebrating 50 Years of Printmaking on exhibition from August 20—December 13, 2026, at the Cape Cod Museum of Art. The class began by making printed backgrounds to be used as substrates. Drawings in pencil, charcoal, and soft pastel were transferred to the gelli plate and pulled to tengucho (mulberry) paper. Collage papers were available to build mixed media layered prints: background, middle collage “sandwich”, and top drawing transfers.
